The data illustrate that Antisocial Personality Disorder affects approximately 1 to 4 percent of the general population (American Psychiatric Association, 2022;Mayo Clinic Staff, n.d.), with significantly higher rates observed in correctional settings (American Psychatric Association, 2022). Prevalence is consistently higher among males (American Psychiatric Association, 2022), and the disorder has been identified across diverse cultural contexts (Wertz et al, 2018). These patterns highlight both the societal impact of ASPD and the importance of accurate, evidence based understanding.
